Catullus Carmen 5
A visual translation of the first half of Catullus' 5th poem.
Vivamus mea Lesbia, atque amemus,
rumoresque senum severiorum
omnes unius aestimemus assis!
soles occidere et redire possunt:
nobis cum semel occidit brevis lux,
nox est perpetua una dormienda.
my translation:
Let us live and let us love, my Lesbia,
and let us wager all rumors of jealous
old men to that of a penny!
Suns are able to fall and able to rise:
When once the brief light falls for us,
one perpetual night must be slept.
